Torino’s winger, Raoul Bellanova, has been speaking about a range of topics, including a potential national team call-up, in an interview with Sportmediaset.
“I think I have really improved a lot compared to the beginning of the year, when I didn’t feel comfortable. It took me a while to get into the team’s mechanisms. But now I’m confident, I feel good physically, I’ll try to do my very best,” Bellanova said. This indicates his ambition to secure a place in Italy’s national team.
Moreover, he expressed his hopes for an invitation from Luciano Spalletti, the national team’s coach. Bellanova said, “The decision is up to Spalletti, but I hope for it because this goal is a dream. There’s six months left until the European Championship, and I hope to prove to him that I warrant a call-up. Scoring a few goals may increase my chances… Everything depends on how I perform at Torino. Playing for Italy would be a dream and a plus”. He shared his childhood dreams as well, highlighting his aspirations to play at San Siro with his team and to participate in a Champions League final. He said, “I hope to relive these emotions because they remain imprinted in the mind”.
The 21-year-old already played for Italy at various youth levels and a senior call-up is looking likely in the near future if his outstanding form continues.
