Barzagli convinced Juventus will compete for the Scudetto

Former Juventus player Andrea Barzagli has shared his thoughts on the Serie A title race with Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inzaghi’s team, as argued by Barzagli, stays in the lead because they have a more fully-developed and battle-ready squad. Despite this, Juventus has made its presence known during the first half of the season by garnering 46 points, just two short of Simone Inzaghi’s team.

Barzagli told La Gazzetta dello Sport, “We all hope for the spectacle of Italian championship that the Derby of Italy for the title is resolved only in the last days.” The ex-Juventus player believes that Juventus will be a serious contender for the title, as they are not burdened with European commitments which might tire them. Their united and ambitious team, according to Barzagli, “reminds me of our first championship win with Antonio Conte as coach in 2012, which was a success against Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva’s AC Milan.

Furthermore, Barzagli mentions that with players like Danilo and his companions are improving every match, coupled with the leadership of Allegri, a coach accustomed to winning championships, Juventus is a force to be reckoned with.

This feedback by Barzagli comes at a time of high intensity in the Serie A, with the title race proving to be a close competition between the long-time rival teams.
