Zamora believes: Real Sociedad aims for top spot

Real Sociedad legend Jesus Maria Zamora has spoken out about his team’s impending Champions League clash with Inter Milan. He discussed the match in an interview with Italian sports news outlet, Tuttosport.

According to Zamora, current form and mindset of Real Sociedad bodes well for their chances at San Siro. “The team will want to win, not just avoid defeat,” he told Tuttosport.

He also asserted the Basque club’s ambition to secure the top spot in their Champions League group, suggesting it might lead to an easier draw in the next round. Real Sociedad’s impressive performance in the Liga, Spain’s top professional football division, has not gone unnoticed. However, Zamora believes their Champions League efforts have been even better.

“Finishing the group ahead of Inter would be prestigious for the club,” Zamora said.

When asked about his favourite Inter Milan player, Zamora was quick to choose French forward, Thuram.

“Thuram changed the match at San Sebastian,” he said, noting Thuram’s strength, speed, decisiveness, and scoring ability as key assets.
