Following Hellas Verona’s 1-1 draw against Lazio, Head Coach Marco Baroni offered his views during a post-match press conference.
Acknowledging the formidable nature of their opposition, Baroni stated, “We played against a strong team, well-coached.” He implied that his team played with some apprehension during the initial half, expressing that they “could have played a little more forward.”
Baroni further emphasised that although Lazio didn’t have major opportunities in the first half, the game’s dynamics could have been different without the expulsion event in the second half. “Perhaps we could have dared more,” he asserted.
Displaying his faith in the team’s abilities, Baroni addressed the need for courageous decision-making on the pitch. “Duda is the strongest midfielder we have”, he highlighted, emphasizing the player’s potential influence on the game. Despite Duda carrying a yellow card, Baroni stated that he still believed Duda could manage the situation effectively. “Unfortunately, it didn’t go that way”, he lamented, thus indicating his dissatisfaction with the outcome.
