Spain: Fan dies in stands, Granada-Athletic Bilbao match suspended

A tragic incident unfolded during a football match between Granada and Athletic Bilbao in Spain. On the 20th minute of the first half, the game was halted due to a health crisis involving a local fan. The Bilbao goalkeeper, Unai Simon, was notably the first on the pitch to spot the ill supporter. He swiftly alerted the match referee and the medical crew.

Despite efforts to revive the fan, which lasted for about five minutes, the individual tragically passed away. Consequently, it was mutually agreed upon by both teams to suspend the match. “La Liga and both clubs have agreed to suspend the match due to the death of the fan at Los Cármenes,” the two teams stated on their social media channels.
