Former Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has shared his perspectives on the idea of having a female coach leading a men’s football team, during an interview with Voetbal.
Reflecting on his own experiences in the dressing room, Sneijder told Voetbal: “In my opinion, we’re going overboard. Things might have changed now, but looking back… I could never imagine being coached by a woman in a dressing room. Considering all the conversations, even the humorous ones that could happen.”
The Dutch footballer asserted that he has no issue with women and clarified his statement, saying, “Please understand, I have nothing against women. But I think we’re getting a bit carried away.”
Sneijder’s comments underscore the ongoing discussion around gender roles in professional football and the broader sports community.
