Former Salernitana Sports Director Walter Sabatini has spoken on TMW Radio about the granata’s season.
Sabatini discussed his recent stint at Salernitana, expressing his difficulty in speaking about it, “I find it hard to talk about Salernitana, it’s still recent my commitment with them. I care about Salernitana, the company, the people of Salerno. It’s hard for me to talk about it.” He stated on TMW Radio.
During the interview, Sabatini also highlighted a recent conference where the president addressed the team’s current problems. “The president held a conference where he didn’t use stereotypes, he went straight to the problem. Now we will see how long it will take to correct the course. He put the players in front of precise responsibilities. It was a direct observation that the players will have to internalize and transfer to the field. If Iervolino made this speech it’s because there’s something that led him to do it.”
The former sports director is surprised by Salernitana’s current standing in the league but believes that there is clearly enough quality to reverse the situation. Sabatini also indicated that although he doesn’t believe the president will call him back, he would be open to returning to his role at Salernitana if asked: “Coming back? I don’t think the president will do it, but Salerno has been an important place for me, which I am linked to. If he called me, obviously I could accept.”
