Moncada in Milan laments Champions League near miss for team turn advance

Geoffrey Moncada, the Chief Scout at AC Milan, has spoken out about the club’s failure to advance to the last 16 of the Champions League, in an interview with Milan TV.

In his statement broadcasted on Milan TV, Moncada expressed his disappointment at missing out on the Champions League knockout stages. “It’s a shame because we came very close to reaching the next stage. It was crucial for us. We ended up with 8 points, the same as PSG. Perhaps we should have performed better in the first two games where we made some mistakes,” emphasised the Milan Chief Scout.

Shifting his focus from the Champions League setback, Moncada called on the team to bounce back strongly in the domestic league. He expressed regret over the Champions League result, repeating the sentiment that they were close to progressing through the stage.

In terms of the team’s morale, Moncada appeared to be pleased. The Chief Scout highlighted recent successful team changes, stating: “We have seen that this team has the right spirit. There have been some good changes, the manager made good replacements and these players have instantly fit in well.”

Among the standout performers, Moncada particularly praised two players – Okafor, for making a good entry into the team and Jovic, who, according to Moncada, “has been doing interesting things for the last five games.”
