Lookman, Serie A’s top scorer behind only Lautaro – the numbers without penalties

Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is second only to Lautaro Martinez in the Serie A goal scoring charts, once penalty kicks are discounted.

Lookman has proven himself to be an essential part of the Bergamo-based squad, leading the charge in their offensive campaign. While currently sitting fifth overall in the goal-scoring charts, deeper inspection reveals his outstanding contribution.

Excluding Lautaro Martinez, who leads the tally with 14 goals, and discounting penalty kicks (three for Giroud, six for Calhanoglu, and three for Berardi) Lookman’s standing rises considerably. After Martinez, without penalties considered, Lookman ranks second with his six goals, none of which came from penalties.

The expectation is that Lookman, showing great promise on the field, can continue to improve upon this scoring average, game after game.
