Lecce’s Piccoli: My goal was valid, there’s regret

Lecce striker Roberto Piccoli has expressed his disappointment following the disallowed goal in the team’s draw against Milan. In a post-match interview with DAZN, Piccoli said, “There is much regret; these are heavy points for a team like Lecce that needs to stay up.”

Piccoli pointed out that Lecce could be more cunning on the pitch, adding, “but when there is a legitimate goal, there is nothing to do.” He described the feeling of celebrating the goal and then having it disallowed as “a terrible sensation.”

On competition with his teammate Krstovic, Piccoli sees it as a “positive struggle” that benefits both players, helping them improve and give their best in training and matches.
