Roberto D’Aversa, coach of Lecce, shared his thoughts ahead of the Serie A challenge against Milan. The coach spoke at a press conference in preparation for the Milan game.
D’Aversa stated, “It could be misleading to judge Milan based on their performance against Udinese. They are a club accustomed to winning. We should have no doubts: Milan is the team we saw in the Champions League. We are ready to deliver a strong performance. We’re facing a great team led by a great coach. We need to bring the anger of losing a result in just a few minutes in Rome. The environmental factor is significant – the atmosphere during the week pushed Milan to deliver an excellent performance. It was a different atmosphere against Udinese. We will have a sold-out stadium and a supportive environment in our favor. We must aim for a performance at 120%. We need to exceed our capabilities, and then we will see what Milan does tomorrow. Before the Roma game, few believed Lecce could deliver such a performance.”
The Lecce coach emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Milan and the need for his team to rise to the occasion. He acknowledged the strength of the opponent while expressing confidence in Lecce’s ability to compete at a high level.
