Inter’s Marotta: I wouldn’t talk about rotation, but co-starters

Inter’s CEO, Beppe Marotta, spoke to Sportmediaset ahead of the Champions League clash against Real Sociedad, expressing his ambitions for the team.

Highlighting the importance of topping the group, Marotta said, “It would be extremely important to finish first to continue a winning cycle and also to avoid difficult opponents.” This shows Inter’s aspirations not only in the immediate Champions League games but also in the long term.

On the topic of player rotation, Marotta embraced the realities of modern football. Without providing any specific names, he commented, “In modern football, every team must assemble a quality squad. I would speak of starters and co-starters,” emphasizing the need for depth and quality in a team.

In a nod to Argentinian striker Lautaro Martínez’s commitment to Inter Milan, the CEO responded positively: “This is a declaration of love for Inter. It puts us in a positive mood and gives us peace of mind when we go to negotiate, knowing that we are dealing with a great professional before us.” Evidently, Martínez’s dedication appears to be appreciated, influencing the club’s dealings positively.

Marotta also mentioned the team’s latest addition, Marcus Thuram. He commended the insight of Piero Ausilio, Inter’s Sporting Director, in bringing Thuram aboard. “Thuram was a great intuition from Piero Ausilio, we supported him, and we are all happy. He has great potential and is expected to play an even bigger role than he is currently,” stated Marotta, indicating high expectations for Thuram at Inter.
