At San Siro, Inter faced Udinese in a match valid for the 15th round of Serie A 2023/24.
The match commenced with a bang as Thuram made the first sign of attack. Inter’s dominant streak wasn’t far off, showcased by Lautaro hitting the post with a headshot. Udinese keeper, Silvestri, could only watch. A spectacular team move by Inter saw Bisseck play in Dimarco who had his shot saved superbly by Silvestri.
Udinese didn’t back down easily either. A swift move started by Samardzic nearly led Udinese to their first goal, had Pereyra’s shot not been just wide off the target.
A little later, Udinese once again looked threatening with Ebosele playing a tantalising ball to Pereyra, but his effort was blocked by Acerbi. While both sides had their moments, the deadlock was finally broken in the 36th minute when Calhanoglu converted a penalty, putting Inter in the lead. Dimarco doubled the lead for Inter six minutes later, followed swiftly by a goal from Thuram.
The second half commenced and outside efforts from Ebosele and Payero didn’t materialise into goals for Udinese. A goal from Lovric in the 68th minute for Udinese was disallowed due to an offside position. Lautaro sealed the victory for Inter with a fourth goal in the 85th minute, sweeping the ball from Payero and launching an unstopabble shot into the back of the net.
