Gavillucci contends there was no penalty for Inter in his view

In a recent interview with Radio 1, Luca Gavillucci, a former referee, questioned the penalty awarded to Inter during their match against Udinese.

Gavillucci contends, “In my opinion, it was not a penalty. Neither on the field nor worthy of a VAR call.” He also implied that the decision may have been influenced by a similar incident involving referee Di Bello at a match in Bologna a few months ago.

He emphasised the need for consistency in refereeing, which he described as the “Eldorado of referees” and said it was the hardest thing to achieve in a single match or a season.

This incident has ignited discussions among fans and pundits, highlighting the ongoing debate about the consistency of referee decisions in football.
