Atalanta’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, spoke to Sky Sports following their victory over Rakow.
Gasperini singled out his young players for praise, notably Scalvini and Ruggeri. He told Sky Sports, “I’m pleased with Bonfanti and Del Lungo. They are playing well despite their physical inexperience, but they have great quality.”
Discussing the Rakow match, Gasperini expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, but noted it was not as challenging as he had anticipated. He said, “It’s given us a great opportunity to understand the quality of players we have in the squad.”
Highlighting the solid performance of Pasalic, Hateboer, and Miranchuk, the coach believes his team can handle the pressure of three competitions. He noted, “We have many players who have delivered results for us, and we are adding to the squad. We’ve seen progression from Holm and Lookman has had a consistent run. If we recover Scamacca, this will be a group that can handle three competitions.”
Gasperini also took the opportunity to praise forward Luis Muriel. He highlighted Muriel’s significant contribution to the team over the years, despite not always playing the full 90 minutes. He said, “Muriel is an extraordinary player who can pull off moves that others cannot, capable of extraordinary plays”.
