Giovanni Galli, regional councillor for Lega in Tuscany, has spoken to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the possible restructuring of the Franchi stadium.
Galli expressed his concerns for the project, saying it would be “a disaster”. He argued that the money spent on the restructuring would not solve any issues.
Galli also questioned the decision to classify the stadium as a ‘high tourist attraction,’ doubting its appeal to tourists. “I have never seen Japanese or Chinese tourists come to take pictures with this architectural piece,” he remarked.
Galli believes that an alternative plan should be considered, which would involve completely rebuilding the stadium and constructing a new one elsewhere.
