Fiorentina’s future stadium is currently a subject of doubts and speculations for Rocco Commisso, the club’s owner, according to a report by the Republic of Florence. The report explains that Commisso is not adverse to making an investment, but this comes with the expectation of a long-term concession as well as control over commercial areas.
However, Commisso is currently facing two main concerns. The first concern is related to the venue that will host the team’s matches during the construction period. Although Padovani stadium remains a possibility, the club is reportedly unwilling to spend any money for the interim arrangement.
The second conundrum is linked to the understanding whether the 55 million euros of proposed financing actually corresponds to the real expense for the renovation of “Franchi”. Further details on these matters remain to be revealed.
