The transfer market for AC Milan could take an unexpected turn regarding Nicolò Zaniolo, as Villarreal are reportedly accelerating their pursuit of the Italian talent.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the trail leading to Zaniolo, who played as a winger for Galatasaray and was on loan at Aston Villa last season, may fade away for AC Milan.
The Spanish club, Villarreal, has intensified its contacts with Galatasaray in an attempt to bring the Italian player to Spain.
“The interest from Villarreal has definitely stepped up, and they are keen to agree on terms with Galatasaray soon,” Fabrizio Romano reported.
Should the negotiations proceed as expected, AC Milan might need to explore other options in the transfer market to strengthen their squad.
