Brighton’s manager, Roberto De Zerbi, addressed the media ahead of the club’s match against Burnley and shared unfortunate news about the Spanish footballer Ansu Fati.
The 21-year-old, on dry transfer from Barcelona since the summer, has sustained an injury which will presumably keep him sidelined for three months.
De Zerbi was quoted as saying, during the press conference, “I think Ansu Fati needs three months to recover from the injury. It’s bad news for us because he was playing better and beginning to grasp our gaming idea more clearly.”
He added, expressing remorse for both the player and the team, “I’m sorry for him and the team.” De Zerbi’s words carry a tangible sense of disappointment knowing the team will be without this young talent for the significant part of the season.
