Ramy Bensebaini, Borussia Dortmund defender, has posed with a Palestinian scarf, but the club has decided not to impose any sanctions. Many footballers have shown their solidarity with Palestine and the people of Gaza, and in many cases, this has resulted in action taken by their respective clubs. However, Borussia Dortmund has chosen not to punish Ramy Bensebaini. The Algerian defender, during the international break, posed with a scarf featuring the Palestinian flag. Daniel Lörcher, the club’s anti-discrimination officer, explained the decision. Daniel Lörcher stated, “His homeland has a strong connection with the Palestinian territories. With the scarves, the national team expressed its condolences for the civilian casualties in Gaza, including many children. Ramy assured us in a personal conversation that he only shows solidarity with the Palestinian civilian population.”
