Barcelona’s midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, recently opened up about his personal life in a comprehensive interview with France Football.
Gundogan shared, “I’m a normal guy, resembling the player you see on the field. Everyone has problems in life, no one has a perfect existence.”
Emphasizing his human side, the German international said, “We all have our concerns and doubts. At the end of the day, when I return home, I’m a human being just like everyone else.”
The footballer also touched on the public perception of him earning a lot of money, saying, “It’s hard to complain but just because I have a privileged life does not mean that I do not have problems.” He added that he’s a father of an 8-month-old baby, whose health and wellbeing is his primary concern.
As mentioned in France Football, despite his privileged life as a professional footballer, Gundogan made a heartfelt admission about his personal struggles, reminding fans that players, regardless of their fame and fortune, deal with everyday problems just like anyone else.
