Barcelona bans footballers from taking showers

Due to unfolding water shortages in Catalonia, local officials have implemented a new rule that impacts football teams across the region, including Barcelona. As reported by Sportbible, the new rule bans players from showering after games and training sessions as a way to conserve water resources.

This restriction extends beyond just Barcelona with other Catalan teams required to follow suit, such as Espanyol and Girona.

At present, Barcelona Football Club, headed by Xavi, is playing at the Olympic Stadium, which served as the home ground for Espanyol between 1997 and 2009 due to ongoing restoration works at Camp Nou.
