Atletico President: We aim to go far in Champions League

Enrique Cerezo, the president of Atletico Madrid, has set out the Spanish club’s ambitions for the Champions League, speaking to the club’s official broadcast channels, the team is preparing to face Inter in the round of sixteen.

Reflecting on the previous season, Cerezo mentioned the club’s progress despite having the World Cup in December. He spoke highly of the team’s performance, “The first team has improved, reaching an impressive second place which allowed us to seal the qualification in the Champions League.”

The Atletico Madrid president added that the club has consistently found itself among the seven clubs that have repeatedly achieved this feat in the past decade.

“For 2024, we maintain the same objectives: to compete at the highest level and aim for the top spot in the four competitions we’ll face, namely the league, Copa del Rey, the Supercup, and the Champions League,” Cerezo announced.

Cerezo also showed his belief in the capabilities of his team. “We trust in our great team to reach where we want to go,” he said. All in all, the sport world will be observing closely as Atletico Madrid strive to achieve their ambitions in the Champions League and other competitions.
