The European Association of Sports Agents has threatened FIFA with legal action against its new regulations, according to a statement released by the association.
The statement said, “The European Association of Sports Agents is ready to take coordinated legal action against the FFAR to find a regulatory solution that respects the role of the football agent and takes into account the entire system at a global level. The current international regulatory landscape is in chaos and requires a new modus operandi that truly takes into account the situation of agents.”
The association added that they were tired of people trying to regulate their sector without adequate involvement of the agents themselves. They are looking forward to working with stakeholders whom they have already contacted to co-develop a system that creates global transparency, efficiency, and respect for all parties involved. The first steps in this direction have already been taken.
