AC Milan linked with Morata, Virdis praises Euro 2020 performance

Pietro Paolo Virdis, a former Milan striker, shared his thoughts on Alvaro Morata’s potential move to AC Milan following Spain’s Euro win.

Virdis, who was one of the standout goal scorers during Arrigo Sacchi’s tenure at the club, joined Milan after stints with other teams, much like Morata could today.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Virdis expressed optimism about the Spanish forward’s arrival.

“Morata has the experience and talent to excel at Milan,” Virdis said.

He further elaborated on the similarities between his journey and that of Morata, noting the importance of adapting to new environments quickly.

“Just like I did, Morata needs to integrate himself into the team’s dynamics swiftly,” he added.

Virdis also mentioned the potential impact Morata could make, drawing parallels between the current squad and the one he was a part of.

“We had a strong, cohesive unit during my time, and I believe Morata can contribute significantly to the current team’s ambitions,” he remarked.

Concluding his statements, Virdis emphasised the importance of teamwork and the positive environment at Milan.

“Football is a team sport, and Milan’s supportive atmosphere will help Morata find his best form,” he concluded.

Morata’s move to Milan has not yet been confirmed officially, but the excitement surrounding the transfer is palpable among fans and former players alike.
