Roma FC is reportedly exploring the transfer market for a defender to strengthen their squad come the winter transfer window. This follows their ongoing difficulties in maintaining a strong line of defence, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The latest speculation is around Arthur Theate, a Belgian defender, currently playing for Rennes FC in France. Theate, who has previously had a stint with Bologna FC in Italy, might be among the potential candidates to fortify Roma’s frail defence.
However, the move might prove to be challenging, as Theate’s current French club, Rennes, seems reluctant to let him go. As per Corriere dello Sport, Rennes “will not be willing to let the player go unless there are significant offers”.
