In his discussion with Corriere dello Sport, former Italian footballer Aldo Serena lavished praise on Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee for his performances so far this season.
Serena drew attention to Zirkzee’s goal-scoring contributions, pointing out the importance of finding the net as a forward. “Zirkzee was lacking goals, it’s as if he has unlocked another door on his path,” Serena shared.
He went on to suggest that Zirkzee’s recent form could pique the interest of top clubs. The Italian added, “If he has understood that scoring goals is as important for a striker as assisting a teammate, believe me, he has turned his present situation around.”
Serena furthered his point by saying, “The big teams look at a good striker, they look at him again, but in the end, they don’t pick him. On the contrary, if he is good and also scores goals, he becomes their first target immediately.”
With Zirkzee only in his early career, such endorsement from a seasoned professional such as Serena suggests promising future prospects.
