Juventus restarts with renewals: from Gatti to Locatelli, the point

Juventus’ market strategy after the arrival of the new Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli
The start of the season for Juventus – albeit without a game appreciated by critics – is bringing the Bianconeri into the top positions as far the Serie A is concerned, while waiting to return to Europe. The Bianconeri are among the obvious favorites for this 2023/2024 season, as many fans can confirm based on the odds and predictions available thanks to the William Hill welcome bonus.

Despite a transfer market that has brought very few new faces (in fact, only Weah, if we exclude loan returns like Cambiaso and Nicolussi Caviglia) and seemed to underline a downsizing for the club. Giuntoli and the company are currently working on renewals, and the goal at the moment seems to be to lay solid foundations for the present and the future.
The Official Renewals of Juventus
At the moment, there are two players who have already officially renewed their contract with Juventus. These are defender Federico Gatti and midfielder Manuel Locatelli. Gatti, who was definitively bought by Juventus in January 2022 and who has effectively been part of the squad since the summer of the same year, has in fact tied himself to the Bianconeri club until June 30, 2028.
After an initial period of adaptation, Gatti immediately won the appreciation of the fans for the determination shown on the field and for his dedication to the cause. In fact, many have even dared to compare him to Giorgio Chiellini, a defender perhaps not very technical, but tough and devoted to the Juventus cause. So far, Gatti has also scored 3 goals with Juventus in 36 total matches played between the league, Coppa Italia, and the Europa League. Interestingly, the latter is the competition in which Gatti has scored the most, with 2 goals. Among Italian center-backs, no one has done better so far.

Locatelli has been part of the Juventus squad since the summer of 2021 and has always represented a pillar of the Bianconeri midfield for Allegri. As a European champion with Italy at Euro 2020, the young man has already surpassed 100 appearances with Juventus, specifically having played 103 matches for the Piedmontese club, also scoring 4 goals, the latest of which was decisive against Milan. Like his teammate, Locatelli has also signed a new contract with Juventus until 2028.

Other Renewals to be Formalized
In addition to the renewals of Gatti and Locatelli, Giuntoli is also working on other contract extensions. One of the most imminent seems to be that of Nicolò Fagioli: the Bianconeri midfielder will soon sign a new contract with the Turin club. Discussions will certainly also resurface for other players whose contracts expire in 2024.
In the defensive department, there is pending news for Alex Sandro and Daniele Rugani: the Brazilian will probably be let go, while the situation of the former Empoli defender is still open. After last year’s mini renewal, the future of Adrien Rabiot also needs to be formalized: the Frenchman is highly coveted abroad and it is not certain that he will remain at Juve.
