Zazzaroni says Roma showed ‘its worst’ against Slavia Prague

Roma’s performance against Slavia Prague in the Champions League has come under criticism from Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni. In his editorial for Corriere dello Sport, Zazzaroni didn’t hold back in his assessment of the team’s display.

“Roma showed their worst against Slavia Prague, so fans can be fairly confident that it won’t be repeated in the derby, even if they wanted to,” said Zazzaroni. He also highlighted the technical and tactical errors that led to Slavia Prague’s second goal, describing them as unique and not likely to be replicated.

The journalist also singled out Karsdorp for criticism, saying, “When the ball is at his feet, the temperature rises to the point where he always plays backwards, or in other words, the opposite. He and the courage to dare are not compatible.”

Zazzaroni also addressed the performance of Kristensen, who was left out of the UEFA list, saying, “This time even Lukaku didn’t perform well, often anticipated or, at best, neglected. El Shaarawy hid for the time he was on the pitch, while Aouar didn’t even show up, forcing Mourinho to substitute him quickly. We saw Paredes in the saddest Juventus version.”

It’s clear that Zazzaroni didn’t hold back in his critique of Roma’s performance against Slavia Prague, and the team will have to work hard to address these issues moving forward.
