Lecce, D’Aversa addresses injured players’ conditions

Ahead of the much-awaiting match against Udinese, Lecce coach Roberto D’Aversa took to the press, discussing his views and strategy for the upcoming game.

D’Aversa shared his insights, saying, “We have to consider an opponent that doesn’t reflect its position in the rankings. There needs to be determination and a desire to achieve results on a challenging ground.” The coach’s words were documented in the recent press conference.

Highlighting half-certifications about their preparedness, he added, “We understand our aim, and we can’t approach a Serie A game mentally less equipped than the opponents. We’re used to giving maximum respect to our rivals, but we also know what we need to do to bring home a positive result: no distractions, mental focus.”

D’Aversa noted the good work of the players who remained behind during the international break. He elaborated, “There are international players who have played and others who have played less. I’m interested in the mental aspect. Everyone has come back well.”

The coach touched upon the condition of players such as Oudin and Sansone, who have been out of the first team action. Oudin had joined the side ahead of Sansone, and all he was missing was the match pit stop. However, Sansone was lacking training entirely. “At this moment, they are in excellent conditions. Only technical choices prevail now”, quoted D’Aversa.

He further added, “Banda joined the squad at the beginning of this week. We will evaluate everything.” As per the coach, in the coming days, all factors will be considered to bring forward the best results for the team.
