Mitrovic’s Official Arrival from Red Star is Confirmed

In the latest transfer update, Hellas Verona has officially announced the permanent acquisition of Stefan Mitrovic, forward from Red Star Belgrade.

As stated by the club, “Hellas Verona FC is pleased to announce the complete and final acquisition of the services of Serbian forward Stefan Mitrovic from Red Star Belgrade.”

Born on 15th August in KruĊĦevac, Serbia, Mitrovic began his football career in the youth ranks of Radnicki Nis. During his tenure at the Serbian Under 19 Club, he scored three goals in 19 appearances.

Mitrovic made his debut for the Radnicki Nis senior team on 23rd November 2019, appearing in a league match against Red Star Belgrade. Across all competitions with Radnicki, Mitrovic was instrumental in his total of 61 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists.

In the 2022/23 season, Mitrovic transferred to Red Star Belgrade, making his club debut on the 24th of July 2022 during a match against Mladost which resulted in a 2-1 victory, thanks to Mitrovic’s first goal for Red Star.

On 3rd August 2022, Mitrovic had his first taste of European competition when he played in the UEFA Champions League third-round qualifier against the Pyunik Erevan, during which he also scored his first goal in the competition. Mitrovic also debuted in the UEFA Europa League on 8th September of the same year playing against Monaco.

During the 2022/23 season, Mitrovic clinched both the national championship as well as the Serbian cup. Over his 56 appearances for the Belgrade-based club, Mitrovic managed to net nine goals and provide three assists.

Mitrovic made his national debut for Serbia’s senior squad on 24th September 2022, in a UEFA Nations League B match that ended with a 4-1 victory over Sweden. Prior to that, Stefan represented Serbia at the Under 19, Under 20, and Under 21 levels.

In closing their announcement, Hellas Verona FC extended a warm welcome to Stefan, wishing him “a future rich with personal and team achievements in the yellow and blue jersey.”
