Lyon Welcomes Matic, Club Confirms
Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic, has officially transferred to Lyon, according to the official statement on the French team’s website.
The statement read, “Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to announce the arrival of Serbian international Nemanja Matić from Stade Rennais until 30 June 2026. The transfer fee amounts to €2.6 million. Born in 1988 in the village of Vrelo, Nemanja Matic has an impressive CV with over 600 professional matches played in his career”.
It further described Matic as, “A 1.94m tall, left-footed defensive midfielder with excellent physical and technical qualities, the Serbian international (48 caps) has also played for Roma, reaching the Europa League final last May, his second personal final after that played with Manchester in 2021.”.
Matic’s career includes an illustrious stint with Roma and the player seems ready to take on this new challenge with Lyon.
