Getafe’s Greenwood Suspension Annulled Following Insults to Referee

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Competition Committee has decided to overturn the suspension of Mason Greenwood. Greenwood was previously penalised for alleged insults towards the match referee during the last round of La Liga matches.

According to the Committee’s statement, a thorough review of the game’s images led them to conclude “beyond any doubt that the action that led to the expulsion did not occur as described by the referee. These images demonstrate that the player actually said ‘One, two, three, four, bloody hell’, as precise as the club stated in its letter and as the sworn translator referenced in his expertise.
