Betis officially welcomes American Cardoso

Real Betis has officially announced the signing of Joao Lucas de Souza Cardoso, a midfielder who has represented the United States nine times in international football. The player has been bought from Brazilian club Internacional Johnny Cardoso.

In an official statement, Real Betis stated: “Real Betis Balompié has added Johnny Cardoso to its ranks. The player arrives from SC Internacional and signs until 2029.”

João Lucas de Souza Cardoso, native of Denville, New Jersey, USA, started his career in the youth teams of SC Internacional. He made his first appearance for the Brazilian club’s first team back in 2019.

The statement also confirmed Cardoso’s international stature, highlighting his nine appearances for the United States national team.
