Reijnders discusses his relationship with the Netherlands in Milan

AC Milan’s midfielder, Tijjani Reijnders, recently opened up about his experience with the Netherlands national team in an interview with Voetball International.

During the interview, Reijnders expressed that he felt at ease with his first summon to the national team. He shared that he was able to comfortably go about his drills and training sessions, although the performance level was understandably higher than what he was used to at AZ.

Practising alongside top-tier players like Frenkie de Jong, Virgil van Dijk, and Cody Gakpo, it was not surprising for Reijnders that the playing level would be higher.

Speaking on the atmosphere within the team, Reijnders expressed that the adjustment was comparatively easier. He explained that the locker room was open to newcomers and there was a good ambience, emphasising the positive team environment.

Voetbal International quoted Reijnders saying, “I remain the same person everywhere and the dynamic always changes during meals as everyone interacts with everyone. I do not have time to reflect in view of the European Championship.”

Reijnders also referred back to last year when he ended a remarkable season with AZ, received his first call up to the Netherlands national team and AC Milan was on the horizon. He recalled his vacation trip to Tanzania, where he had a chance to reflect on everything that occurred.
