Super League, CEO Reichart awaits European Court decision

Bernd Reichart, CEO of the Super League, has spoken out regarding the future of the project. His comments, published on A22’s social media channels, addressed the impending decision from the Supreme Court of the European Union. His comments were reported by Calcio e Finanza.

Reichart was quoted as saying “On December 21, the Supreme Court of the European Union will make its final ruling on our antitrust case against UEFA and FIFA.” He then noted a significant amount of confusion surrounding the proceedings.

Reichart is attempting to shed light on the matter stating, “UEFA holds an absolute monopoly in traditional club football. The court will determine whether this monopoly is allowed to continue or whether it is destined to fall.”

This major antitrust case targets UEFA and FIFA’s dominance in the football industry, which, according to Reichart, is monopolistic. The outcome of the case would certainly mark a pivotal moment in the history of the football industry.

Ever since its proposal, the Super League has remained a highly controversial project. As the result on December 21 draws closer, the football world keenly awaits the Supreme Court’s decision.
