Modric on the sidelines at Real Madrid: farewell in June

Real Madrid’s veteran midfielder, Luka Modric, aged 38, is reportedly mulling over an exit from the club as his role continues to dwindle. In this season, the Croatian player has not once completed a full 90 minutes in a league match and in the Champions League, he has only finished games against Union Berlin and Braga.

According to the sports publication ‘Sport’, after spending 12 years at Real Madrid, Modric might decide to leave when his contract expires in June. Although the club’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is said to be keen to persuade him to stay, it seems the player is determined to be an integral part of the project on the field.
