Fiorentina, Italiano: Progress made compared to last year, hopes for Nico’s not serious condition

Fiorentina’s coach Vincenzo Italiano shared his thoughts in a post-match interview with Sky Sport following the game against Ferencvaros.

Italiano remarked on the team’s performance and their strategy for the match. He was noticeably satisfied with achieving their objective and the advantage of having two positive outcomes from three possible results. He added that the team displayed an admirable response to the initial disadvantage, emphasizing how they’ve made progress in comparison to the previous year.

However, the coach expressed concern over Nico Gonzalez, a crucial player, who had to be sidelined for eight days due to health issues. Despite Gonzalez feeling well enough to play in Rome, Italiano revealed some apprehension about continued health problems, “He might have over strained himself, but we hope it’s nothing serious and he can return soon,” he told Sky Sport.

As the January transfer window approaches, Italiano stressed on the need to take into consideration the many upcoming matches before any decision is made. Clearly, the Fiorentina coach is keeping his options open and his eyes on the club’s future performance.
