Milan, Pioli: Mission is possible, we believe we can get through

Stefano Pioli, the manager of Milan, has shared his thoughts ahead of their Champions League clash against Newcastle, in an interview with Amazon Prime.

Pioli emphasised the importance of belief ahead of the difficult match. He stressed that they must believe in their own abilities to win the game given it is their only option.

Pioli was quoted as saying, “Mission possible? It must be so. The match is difficult, playing on their (Newcastle’s) home ground is tough, but we must believe in our abilities to win this game because we only have this opportunity.”

The Milan coach also underlined the need for his team to stay focused throughout the match. Pioli is mindful of how Newcastle play, yet he feels they can exploit them.

He added, “We need to stay present in these matches. We know how they set-up, but we also know the games are long and that we have the qualities to hurt them.” He recalled how in the return fixture they demonstrated they could do it.
