Roma’s Pinto expresses confidence in justice, remains calm about Mou’s renewal

Ahead of Roma’s game against Fiorentina, Tiago Pinto, the sporting director of Roma, spoke about their expectations and discussed some prevalent issues in an interview with DAZN.

Commenting on their expectations for the match, Pinto said, “We will be satisfied if we have the three points after the game. It is too early to make balances; we know that in a season with 38 games, there are cycles more or less positive and today we have an important challenge with a great team, with a great coach and great players. In recent years, it has always been an interesting match and it will be today as well.”

Pinto also touched on sports justice in the game. “Sports justice, for me, is in good hands. The prosecutor doesn’t spare anyone and only thinks about the best for football. We went there and had an important discussion in which we demonstrated that we are behaving correctly this season. The coach has often spoken highly of the referees and it was just a misunderstanding that led to this, as he didn’t mean to offend anyone. The entire coaching team and the management are united in respecting everyone, especially the referees,” he stated.

In response to a question about the future of Roma’s manager, Mourinho, Pinto said, “I’m glad you asked this question, because I’m superstitious and you always ask me this question. You also asked Mourinho yesterday and now we are focused on winning the game.”
